Recent Announcement:
Medicare Obesity Coverage: The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid (CMS) recently announced obesity screening and counseling for Medicare beneficiaries. The benefit, including under the preventive services, includes 1 face-to-face counseling visit each week for 1 month and then 1 face-to-face counseling visit every other week for an additional 5 months for those who screen positive for obesity ( BMI ≥ 30 kg/m2).
